Ohio Star Ball 2010
There are plenty of dance competitions that take place all over the world let alone all throughout the U.S. In Ohio each year, there the Ohio Star Ball. Here, dancers from all over the world, from right here in Boston to as far as Russia and Japan, compete in a variety of dance styles. From Latin to American Smooth, the competition showcases dancers of all ages as they compete for the top spot.
The Ohio Star ball has been running for 33 years. Today, it is a 6 day event with 70 judges, 3 chairmen, and plenty of other staff that keep the show running smoothly. This year it ended on November 21st after 6 long days of dancing. It hosts the World Pro/Am Championships and World Professional American Smooth and Rhythm Championships. The competition has been voted one of the best for Pro/Am dancers as people from all over the world are able to earn a world title in the U.S.
The Ohio Star Ball also offers a boot camp that dancers can attend in order to brush up on their dancing skills. It is also a camp for beginners looking to learn how to dance. If you’re here in Boston, however, attending a dancing camp in Ohio may not be the most ideal. At Dance Fever in Boston, you can learn Latin and Standard ballroom dance. (If you’re good enough or willing to practice hard, you could find yourself at a future Ohio Star Ball!) We can teach you basic Latin steps and then move onto more challenging moves. You’ll be ready to compete before you know it. Remember, dancing is all about preparation and your drive to beat the competition. Come to Dance Fever, conveniently located in Newton and Marblehead, and embark on your dance journey.
